Saturday August 2, 2014 Prince George, British Columbia, Canada

Our last view of snowcapped BC mountains
We were up at 7:30 and started our coffee while getting ready to travel.  All I had to do was unhook power on the outside while Gerri ran the rooms in and retracted the leveling jacks.

We left the park at 8:45.  I stopped at a rest stop 2.5 miles down the road for a geocache.  Our travel today started on TC-16 and went through alternating farms and forest lands.  We stopped in a town named Houston and saw the world’s largest fly fishing rod.  There was a cache there that I also found while Gerri took pictures.  We barely missed a collision with a Bald Eagle shortly after leaving Houston.  It came up from the left of the coach and across in front of the windshield.  I had let off the accelerator and it flew off to the right as we passed.  It was no more than a few inches from the windshield as it crossed in front of us.

Before we arrived at the RV Park in Prince George we stopped at a Wal-Mart to pick up a few items.  I unhooked the Jeep.  Gerri forgot a few items and had to go back to the store.  I drove on the remaining 4-5 miles and got the motorhome parked and set up.  The site was a pull through so I no problems without her to guide me.  Gerri took longer than she should have getting to the park.  The log book was in the coach and she forgot about the turn onto PH-97.

It was about 4 PM when we were both in the park.  There was a gab fest at Bob and Rebecca’s site.  From there we could see when the pizzas arrive and not be late for the pizza party at 6.  After the pizza party we had our briefing on Sunday’s travel.  We will be in a dry camp at the Hat Creek Ranch in Cache Creek, British Columbia.

From our arrival until after dinner there were problems with the park power.  When power was restored they ask us to only use one AC unit.  The WiFi here was also a problem; I was never able to log on even though the network showed four bars.  We still have no DirecTV or Sirius Radio.  I have Sirius in the Jeep and the screen in the coach shows what station it is tuned to but no sound.  More to add to the list of things that need repaired.

I should also note that this was our second day free of mosquitoes and rain.  My bug smasher did quite a job while we drove.  I had to scrub the windshield before traveling again.

We were in bed by 11, tomorrow we have 264 miles to travel.  The road is reported to be good.  We shall see.
