Following the Barkers

Thursday, September 12, 2013, Hilton Head Island, SC

We didn't hurry this morning since we only had 110 miles to go.  We had our coffee and internet time and started rolling things up to get ready to travel.  Since Gerri had done wash last night I still had the water hose and sewer hose to put away and of course the Shore power cord.  I had hooked up the Jeep last night after coming back from downtown.

We let the RV park at 10:40 AM.  Routing problems started quickly.  I missed the exit and had to circle the entire park.  Just 10 miles down the road we stopped at Costco to pick up a few items.  It may have been only a few items but it took over an hour to select them.  After Costco we stopped at a Hess station for fuel, it took almost 93 gallons so it took a while to pump the fuel.

Hilton Head Harbor from our RV
Our route was SW on US-17, we were on I-95 for about 3 miles and turned east toward Hilton Head Island.  About half way to our destination we hit a cloud of flying black bugs.  It was good that we weren't going west into the sun.  The coach is now about as dirty as I have ever seen it.

Our site at Hilton Head Harbor RV Resort and Marino
We got to the park at 3 PM and had to wait for another rig to move out of the registration area.  The park has mostly back in sites with a few facing the water that are set up for either backing in or pulling in, hook ups on both sides of the site.  We choose a waterfront site and choose to pull in so we could enjoy the view of the harbor.  The people before us got the best site, ours was situated so that I couldn't pull straight in.  We parked at an angle but the view was great.

Day is Done, Gone the Sun
There was a great sunset.  Gerri made a few phone calls inquiring about area tours, not much luck,  She will try again tomorrow.  I called a detailing company to get the coach cleaned up, they will call me in the morning.

We had left overs for supper and watched TV before retiring.
