Wednesday June 1, 2016 Little Rock, AR

What a night!  We were awakened at 1 AM by the loudest lightning strike we have ever heard.  It wasn't a roll of thunder, it was like an explosion right outside our coach.  Gerri checked the weather on her phone and the forecast was for violent storms in our area until 1:30.  It rained hard and the lightning and thunder continued until 1:30 as forecast, it just wasn't as close as before.

When I got up and set up the coffee the power was off.  After some checking we found the power was only off on the right side of the coach in the galley area.  I made the coffee by moving the pot to another outlet.  While I was brushing my teeth it occurred to me there was a GFI behind the TV in the kitchen area.  A quick reset and the problem was solved.

Arkansas Capitol Building
In the afternoon we decided it was time for some tourist stuff.  We went downtown to see the Arkansas capitol building.  It was about 15 miles and just after leaving the park we ran into HEAVY rain.  It slacked off while we were taking pictures of the capitol building.

Two Rivers Park Community Gardens
On the way back Gerri took me to a couple of caches.  We also went by Two Rivers park and saw the largest community garden we have ever seen.

Looking for snacks

Back at the coach we watched some TV.  Since we couldn't connect with DirecTV, I had tuned into local off the air stations.  We get 15 channels, including our favorite ME TV which has old TV shows like Andy Griffith and Gunsmoke.
Another view of the Arkansas River

Gerri made breakfast for dinner, we had bacon and eggs with English muffins. What a cook, bacon done just right, and great scrambled eggs.

We finished off the evening with TV and reading.  Tomorrow we head for Branson, MO
