Across the Missouri
We left the park and crossed the Missouri river at about 9.  We had pulled out after making coffee and getting things ready to travel.  The day was sunny and already warm.  With the dash air out we had to use the generator and roof air most of the way.  We had traveled about 50 miles when we spotted a Flying J with a Blue Beacon truck wash across the street.  After fueling up we headed toward the wash. I noticed it only had one wash bay, and then counted the trucks waiting in line.  There were 10.  I passed on waiting that long for a wash and we continued on our 350 mile journey to Dubuque, IA.

When we drove from Branson to St. Charles we took a fairly long detour to visit the state capitol building in Jefferson City.  I had only taken a cursory look at today's route from St. Charles, MO to Dubuque, IA.  We were somewhere north of Peoria when the question came up, what is the capitol of Illinois?  Well it is Springfield and we had travel through the city on I-55 an hour or so before we gave it any thought.

The roads we traveled today were mostly good but there were three sections where traffic was closed down to only one lane.  We didn't see anyone working in the longest of the three.

Wisconsin
We got to the RV park at about three, no one was at the check in point.  We found our assigned spot.  It faced the river but was quite narrow as was the road in front.  After some checking the soil I decided to pull through from a road and space behind us.  I got the outside set up quickly.  There is only electric here so it didn't take long.  From our site we can see both Wisconsin and Illinois across the Mississippi River.

We tried tuning in DirecTV with no luck and a search of local channels only found one, the 700 Club.  I guess if we watch TV it will be DVDs.  The park has no wifi service and  our Verizon is very slow most of the time.

It was very warm the rest of the day and shortly after we went to bed the rain started.  I guess the long line at the truck wash had been a bit of good luck.
