Wednesday April 2, 2014

Despite the fact we went to bed early last night, we slept in until after nine.  During the night we could feel the ship's movement.  This morning the Captain announced that we would have heavy seas until the afternoon and that access to the outer deck was restricted.

We ordered breakfast and had it in our room.  We took Dramamine before sailing yesterday and again this morning.  Between the Dramamine, the gentle rocking and, I suppose the need, we napped and lounged around most of the morning and afternoon.  We did't get dressed until after 4.  We went to the Skywalker's Lounge for the Captain's Circle hors d'overs.  Today's feature was steak tartar.

Next we went to see a pianist in the Princess Theater before dinner.  As I said before we are at the second seating.  All these activities required walking nearly the entire length of the ship between each one.  The Skywalker's Lounge forward to thre theater and then back to the dining room.  I am wearing my FitBit so I should bring up my step count and have several flights of stairs recorded.  The device is supposed to upload to my FitBit website when we have a wifi connection, we will see.  As a side note we have 500 mixtures of Internet time each, this is part of the Princess loyalty rewards.  In Hawaii we will be able to use our mifi so that will save on our ship board use.

The show was very entertaining.  It was more than just classical piano.  The pianist had a suit with horns for one act, kind of like a oneman band with only horns.  He mixed some classical piano with contemporary and a little comedy.

Dinners was very good, it was Italian night, but we passed on the lemoncello.  After dinner we went to the shops but they were closed.  Back at our room we realized how tired we were.  A little reading ended the night at about 10 PM.  A very good day with a lot of needed rest from getting ready for the cruise and home remodeling.
