Sunday July 31, 2016 Botwood, Newfoundland, Canada

The brook behind our site
It rained during the night but was clear when we got up.  Later in the morning there were scattered clouds.  After having our coffee, I cleaned up the outside of the Jeep.

Our little bit of Botwood

Welcome to Botwood cache
In the afternoon we drove downtown.  On the way and in town Gerri drove me to five caches.  Including one with a good view of the town and bay.  We also picked and tried some wild blue berries growing in the area.  I was able to fix some problems with a couple of the caches, new logs and zip lock bags to help keep them dry.

We visited two museums.  The first had displays that told the heritage and some history of the area, the other was devoted to the trans-Atlantic flights that stopped here in the 30’s.  Botwood was quite the busy place during the 2nd World War.

We had a dinner of the left over salmon and stir fry from last night and the remainder of the soup from a few days ago.  We passed on going downtown to see the boat parade at 9.  No one seemed to know exactly where to go, either for parking or viewing.

We called it a night after reading a while.  Tomorrow we have a boat tour in the afternoon and that will conclude our visit to Botwood.
