McCarran Terminal 3
Well, are we are on the move again.  This time we aren't in the motorhome but flying to Maui for 4 weeks.  We started the day at 4 AM and with no coffee we planned to get some at the airport.  We got everything in the car and ready to head to the airport.  Montyne carried us to Terminal 3 and dropped us off at 6:30.  We got checked in and then waited for nearly an hour for a porter with a wheelchair.  For the last several trips when we fly I have been getting a wheelchair from the check-in to the gate.  Not only is it quicker than my walking speed, we also seem to be expedited through the security check point.

We finally got our coffee about a half hour before boarding time. When Montyne was a fight attendant she had joked about the miracle flights from Hawaii to the mainland.  On these flights a lot of passengers boarded in wheelchairs in Hawaii and were cured enough to walk off when the flight arrived in Las Vegas,  Well we were on the relapse flight. There were 10 of us in wheelchairs. One that had a narrower chair to take him down the aisle to his seat.  We were in the air and on the way to Honolulu by 9.
Is it a selfie when two people are in the picture?

The flight was almost 6 hours and was uneventful.  At Honolulu we changed to another flight to Maui.  On our arrival at Kahului Airport we went to Budget Car Rental and picked up our rental car.  They offered us a 4 door Jeep Wrangler for $10.00 more a day.  We choose to stay with the sedan.  Our rental car was called full size but it was a Volkswagen Passat.

Welcome to Maui
After leaving Budget and getting use to the brakes and no effort power steering on the car, we went to Costco.  From Costco it was about 22 miles to our resort.  Most of the way the highway ran along the ocean.  There were a lot of surfers out.  In one area where the inland side of the road was lined with trees we saw a beautiful rainbow  We had a little rain on the way but it looked like the mountains were getting a lot of rain.  There were several cars besides us that stopped and took pictures.

Hawaii is called the Rainbow State

There was a beautiful sunset over Lanai but we weren't in a position to get a picture.  We arrived at the Papakea Resort in the dark.  We got registered and the car unloaded.  Several of the buildings are being remodeled and the way to our unit was roundabout.

It had been a long day.  Sitting in an airplane for 6 1/2 hours shouldn't tire us out.  But it did.  I didn't bring my computer.  I will do my regular computer stuff on my iPad or iPhone and use Gerri's computer for the rest. Gerri is using her new iPad for her egg game and learning about the iPad's features.

We got settled in and were in bed by 11 Hawaiian time.  We are 3 hours behind Pacific Time.
