Sunday August 31, 2014 Hawthorne, NV

No wind this morning!  I did start getting warm early, by 10 we needed the air conditioners.  We relaxed with our coffee and computer activity until time for the netcast of the worship services from the Oakey Blvd. Church of Christ.  Today the youth of the congregation conducted the services, with Quincy Green delivering the message.  His message was clear and well delivered on Fellowship with God and other Christians.  He also included sub messages about lying to ourselves and the faithfulness of God if we repent our sins.

Yesterday I downloaded a few local geocaches and in the afternoon I went looking for some of them.  I found 15.  Most of them were in what used to be Babbitt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babbitt,_Nevada  There were another two I was unable to find.

Mt. Grant in August
I was back at the coach in time to log my caches and tune into the evening worship at the Oakey Blvd. Church of Christ, via internet.  The evening service were also conducted by the youth of the congregation.  Another great message by one of the Green brothers.  These three brothers are such talented men of God.

I wanted to get a picture of Mt. Grant that would show the difference between now and when we were here in early June.  I waited too long and got only a silhouette after the sun went behind the mountain.  In June there was still a little spot of snow on the mountain, it is now gone. http://peakery.com/mount-grant-nevada/

Gerri fixed the last of the sidestripe shrimp that we had bought in Anchorage.  http://www.oceanwise.ca/seafood/shrimpprawn/sidestripe-shrimp-sidestripe-prawn-0  She made pasta with an Alfredo sauce to go with them.

We started this journey in May now August is gone.  We spent the first night on the road here at Whiskey Flats and we spent the last night at Whiskey Flats.

Gerri did some wash during the afternoon and evening.  We watched some TV and read before bed.
