Monday, April 1, 2013, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico

It was a late night Sunday getting ready to travel on today. Gerri set the alarm for 5 AM. We had a few details to wrap up. Hollis picked up Gerri's mother and brought her to our house so that her car didn't have to sit out in front of our house for two weeks. After getting our luggage into Hollis' suburban we headed to the airport. We got to the airport and found the Air Tran section and got checked in for our flight. Air Tran charges for each checked in bag. Gerri had arranged for wheelchairs for both Neva and me. Air Tran uses the oldest part of the terminal, the B Gates. It was a long walk and my left leg was thankful for the wheelchair. Our flight left for John Wayne Airport at 9:30 and we were there in about an hour. Our fight to Cabo was a continuation of the leg from Las Vegas, but we had to get off the airplane and re-board it at 11:30. Gerri caught up on her computer activities while we waited. I did the same. Because our internet access at the Hacienda del Mar is limited, I had asked several friends to hold all but important e-mail and I temporarily stopped the mail from the motor home groups I subscribe to this past weekend. I found that I get very little e-mail other than from those sources.

The flight from Orange County to Los Cabos was uneventful. We deplaned a long way from the section of the new terminal that houses immigration and customs. Because Neva was in the wheelchair we were taken to the head of the line. In very short order we were in the shuttle to the Hacienda del Mar with all our bags. The shuttle made three stops before ours. We were checked in and in our room by 4:15. We lounged around the patio for awhile before unpacking. Our room is on the ground floor so we have some lawn and a partial view of the ocean. The weather was warm but comfortable.

Monday is fajita night at Girasoles, so we decided to have dinner there. Girasoles is on the third floor of one of the buildings overlooking the ocean and a skyline view to the southwest We had the fajitas followed by an order of Flan which we split.
Flan for three at Girasole's

Back at our unit Gerri and her mom called it a night at about 9:40. I stayed up a little later to finish this blog. Of course I can't post it until Gerri gets a chance to proof read it.

Although it
was a busy day traveling it was a good day and the start of a month in Mexico.
