2011 Cruise, Day 14

Friday, September 30, Papeete, Day 14 We are in port at Papeete until early this evening. The caches on Moorea all indicted problems, I hope to get one here on Tahiti.

Sunset over Moorea

We hadn't planned any tours in Papeete. We went ashore at about 10 AM for shopping. Before leaving the ship we bought post cards to send to family. Gerri and Beth both bought black pearl earrings. We also bought small gifts for the grand kids. Every body else decided to go back to the ship for lunch. I got a taxi to take me to the nearest cache. It was 7.3 miles as the crow flies, but as the taxi drives it was about 12 miles on the other side of the island. Once in the area the cache was easy, it was a virtual cache so I got the $ information and went back to the ship.
We had lunch on deck and stayed there until the ship sailed, Tim and I took pictures of the sun setting over Moorea.
We took supper at our table in the Traviata dining room.

We are scheduled to arrive in Bora Bora at 7 AM, and plan to go to the beach and then to a restaurant called Bloody Mary's. It's named after a character in the Movie South Pacific.
