After passing through Kingman, AZ we had intermittent rain showers. Some were heavy enough that I had to slow down. 60 miles east of Kingman there was a large accident in the east bound lanes. There was a hill between the lane and we couldn't see very much. There were two vehicles that had crossed the median and ended up on the east bound side of the highway. Traffic was backed up about two miles. There was a helicopter orbiting the area and many police cars and other emergency vehicles on the scene. Just west of Ash Fork west bound traffic was being diverted on to old US-66.
We passed through several more rain cells on the rest of the trip to Flagstaff. It wasn't raining when I checked in at the RV park but by the time I was hooking up the coach utilities it was alternating between light rain and hard pellet like snow. We were all set up by 2:30. Later the sun alternated with clouds. This is a pretty nice park , it has good gravel roads with cinder in the sites. The park is on US-89 about 3 miles north of I-40 headed toward the Grand Canyon.
From Neva's deck |
We went to see Neva at the Wyndham. Her time share complex is on the same road as the RV park, it is about a mile south of I-40. We had chips, and dips and some cheese and crackers before we played a game of Mexican Train, dominoes. I won. Know Gerri and Neva will out for revenge tomorrow.

We had reservations at Black Bart's Restaurant at 7. http://www.blackbartssteakhouse.com/ We went there and had great meals.
Neva had fried shrimp with curly fries.
Gerri and I had huge steaks, hers was a bone in rib eye and mine a porterhouse. We all had a salad and they served warm biscuits before the meal. Gerri and I split one of the baked potatoes and took the other back to the coach with about 3/4 of our steaks.
One of the things that makes Black Bart's unique is the entertainment. The wait staff and servers are also the performers. Most are music students at Northern Arizona University. There was only one tour bus in tonight so the place was busy but not packed.
When we got back to the coach it was 9 PM and 45 degrees out. I turned off the water and drained the hose before going in for the night. Of course inside the first thing Gerri did was set up an electric heater and turn it on.
Today we drove 209 miles mostly on I-40 the trip took 4 hours. We had enough rain to really make the coach and Jeep very dirty. When we went in for the night there were a lot of stars showing with very few clouds. The forecast for tomorrow is for another day like today. We were in bed by 10:30.
