It
had rained quite a bit during the night.
Although it was warm when we went to bed last night it was quite cool
this morning, bordering on cold. I made
coffee and we drank it while finishing blogs and reading. There is internet here in the Chicken Gold
camp RV Park to our surprise but the WiFi signal isn't very strong. We don’t have but 80 miles to drive
today. The road isn't reported to be any
better so it may take us several hours.
We
left Dave and Rita behind as their coach wouldn't start. Dave drove in to Tok and got a mechanic to
go to Chicken to see if it could be fixed there without towing the coach.
Lined up for a wash. |
An hour later, still lined up. |
The
drive had a lot of ups and downs put the way was generally losing altitude. The Road was generally good. There were some stretches of dirt and
gravel. There also were potholes and under $5 a gallon.
The next was washing the RV and Jeep. The Tok Village RV Park, http://www.tokrv.net/, had a wash area that our entire group went through. We all pitched in with brushes and buckets so washing 24 rigs only took a couple of hours. I ran through the wash with the cover still on the Jeep. It didn't clean up well. I’ll do it by hand in Valdez tomorrow.a few frost heaves. We made good time. We left Chicken 10:45 and got to Tok at about 1. The first order of business was to top off the fuel tank. I was glad to see diesel sold by the gallon and

Dinner
was again prepared by the Fantasy staff.
Dinner was a chicken dish with broccoli, cauliflower and gravy over
rice. After our briefing on tomorrow’s
travel the staff served banana splits.
Teddie, our mascot, was also passed to new caretakers after the diary of
her adventures were read. She went to
Arthur and Sharon. Arthur and Sharron’s
coach had broken down on the way to Watson Lake and towed back to Ft. Nelson
for repairs. They got the repairs done
and rejoined the group this afternoon in Tok.
Teddie will comfort them and make sure they are welcome back.
The
festivities broke up at about 9 and everyone returned to their coaches. The day had been cloudy and cool and it was
colder in the early evening. Because of the cloud cover the only pictures I got were the coached lined up for a wash.
