Today's plan included a visit from a friend of Gerri's from Santa Clarita, CA. She was arriving at about 10 AM by train at Oceanside. Gerri took her coffee with her to pick up LaNeita. I stayed at the coach catching up on e-mail and Facebook and of course enjoying my coffee. The train station is only a couple of miles from the RV Park so they were back pretty quickly.

LaNeita and Gerri |
We visited at the coach for an hour or so. LaNieta used to live in Las Vegas, she taught at Cheyenne High School, but has since moved back to California. We decided to have lunch at the Daily News, a restaurant on the grounds of the Carlsbad Inn. They serve breakfast and lunch until 4. It had been several years since we ate there. The food was still very good. Even though she didn't order it, Gerri was happy to see corned beef hash on the menu. LaNeita has eggs and hash, Gerri had a crepe with avocado and I had huevos rancheros. My meal was good, but not as good as the same dish at Norte.
After eating we drove around Carlsbad and Oceanside. Kind of a nickle tour of the towns and the pier. We dropped LaNeita back at the train station at about 2:30. We had a good visit, good weather and good food.

The sequence board |
We spent the afternoon relaxing. We had been invited to dinner at the Coker's and we went to their site at about 6, they are next door to us. Beside Henry and Geneal there was one of his daughters with two girls, Henry's mother and sister. We played a new to us card game named "Sequence." The game is on a board, we played a couple of games with three teams of two and two with two teams of two. We found it lots of fun.
For dinner, Henry cooked two chickens in his smoker. We also had green beans, a broccoli pasta salad, baked potatoes and a fruit salad that Gerri contributed.
The party broke up at about 9:30. Henry is returning to Las Vegas for the weekend for an important activity with his church. We will only see them again on our last day here, Monday.
I had a wonderful time with the two of you. The train ride was relaxing as always. I hope to see you again real soon.
