This
was our first full day at sea. We slept
as late as we could and ordered our coffee and breakfast and had those before getting
out.
We
met the Cavagnaro’s on deck 14 and we had lunch from the pizza parlor. After lunch Gerri and the others went to the
art auction and I went to the Princess Theater.
A couple gave a talk about the ports we will visit and included some
information on whales and other sea life.
We
got back together in the Piazza. We
watched some wacky races type games for a while and then went to the Explorer
Lounge and visited with the Bill and Elaine and two other people we met there. Betty was a mathematics professor from Los
Alamos, Larry was from June Lake, CA. It
turns out they are seated near us in the dining room, so we should see more of
them later.
Our
entire table was at dinner. The couple,
whose names I didn’t remember yesterday, William and Shelly. After dinner we went to the Piazza and
watched the last of the champagne fountain being filled. We missed the Captain’s speech and
introduction of the executive officers.
We found seats in the Promenade Lounge and waited until time for Jere
Ring’s performance. We were sitting near
the piano and chatted with him for a while before his show started. I say his show but he includes all the
audience and tells stories of his days working with Liberace.
We
were all pretty tired and went our separate ways at about 9:30. We went back to our room. Gerri read about three pages and I finished
the three Words With Friends games I had started earlier.
Tomorrow
is Cabo San Lucas. We are on our own
having cancelled the excursion I originally booked.
