We got up at 7 and I made coffee. There was no internet. After our coffee we went to the nearby Jasper
Skyway. The tram goes up a mountain that
overlooks the valley where the town of Jasper is. From the top we could see the valley, the
surrounding mountains and many glacial lakes.
We had breakfast at the restaurant at the top of the tramway. After breakfast Nancy gave a briefing of
tomorrow’s travel. This leg of our
journey is 322 miles, the longest planned.

After
getting back to the bottom of the tramway I found a geocache in the parking
lot. We then returned to the coach
before touring the area. We drove
downtown to check out the only service station with diesel. It is under renovation and there is only one
lane suitable for large coaches. We decided
not to hook up the Jeep until after fueling.
We also hope it isn’t busy when we get there in the morning. I found one geocache while we were looking
around and DNF’ed another one.
We
then drove to Maligne Lake. It was about
30 miles. Maligne is one of the largest
glacial lakes in the world. There is a
small lodge there along with boat ramps, canoe rentals and lake tour boats. It is a very pretty area. I found one geocache there at a picnic
area. On the drive to the lake we saw
two deer and on the drive back to Jasper we saw a black bear and a female
moose. Rhose pictures are below.

We
returned to the downtown area and had lunch and hit a few shops. I found two geocaches. The second was in the owner’s yard and we met
him and talked for awhile.
Back
at the coach we visited with our neighbors and fellow caravaneers, Bob and
Rebecca. They are from Indianapolis. The mosquitoes were coming out so the visit
wasn’t too long.
I
took down the flag and emptied the sewer tank and put away the flags and
flagpole. Gerri then cut my hair. After the haircut I went out and found four
more caches and filled the Jeep with gas.
Back at the coach I unhooked the water and sewer in preparation for tomorrow’s
travel.
We
called it a night at about 11 with plans to try to leave the park by 8.
