Tuesday June 10, 2014 Coeur d'Alene, ID

Watch that first step
Today was the official start date of our adventure to Alaska. I slept late and made coffee when I got up.  Of course we caught up on e-mail and Facebook while we drank our coffee.  Most of the news and Facebook comments we read were about the two police officers killed 2 days ago on Sunday in Las Vegas.  A really sad day and we need to pray for their families.

Gerri did more wash, this time at the motorhome.  Yesterday we some how lost the mat that we put clean dishes on to dry. It is still a mystery what happened to it. I went back to the park laundromat twice to see if anyone found it and returned it to the laundry room.  She also went through the closets and drawers to make sure there wasn't any last minute items we needed.

I walked across the highway to the park where I didn't find a geocache yesterday.  The owner had replaced it in a slightly different location and I found it easily.

Gerri had been making lists of things we needed to buy before entering Canada.  We went to a nearby Albertson's and got many of the items. When we checked into the RV Park they gave us a coupon worth $10 off with $50 worth of spending at Albertson's.  While Gerri was finishing the shopping I walked around the shopping center to a geocache that was hidden behind the Albertson's.

The first official function on the Caravan started at 4pm,  we had hors d'oeuvres and mingled with the other people going on the caravan.  We then had dinner prepared by the Wagon Masters and Tail  Gunners.  Pictured above was an odd feature in the clubhouse, a door with no steps to it.

Back at the coach we saw a beautiful sunset.  After some more computer time we called it a night.

Tomorrow we have an orientation and then dinner at the Cedars, a nearby floating restaurant on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
