We slept in this morning as
planned. We ordered coffee and juice in
our room at about 10 AM. We lounged
around and ventured out in the afternoon.
We had to stop at the
Internet Cafe and get some time added back on my account. I had a problem logging off this morning on
my iPad and though it disconnected when I turned off the iPad it hadn't and my
minutes were gone. The manager of the
Internet Cafe added them back to my account.
We had lunch on deck near the
main pool, hot dogs, cheeseburgers with fries from the Trident Grill. Gerri had to teach the cook how to split and
grill the hotdogs and we had them toast the buns on the grill. After lunch we had soft serve ice cream from
Swirls.
We walked across the glass
bottom sky walk that curves out over the ocean.
The water going by at about 20 knots is a little unsettling and I held
the railing.
Gerri went shopping. She was on the hunt for a pair of sunglasses
and had resigned herself to paying a lot for them. One of the bows had broken off her
prescription sunglasses, we had just had them fixed for the same problem not
long before leaving Las Vegas. I walked
around the deck where the pool is, Deck 16, and then went up to 17 and 18. 17 is mostly sun deck and 18 has a walking
track and exercise track. The track is 7 laps to the mile, I only walked around
it twice.
I met Gerri back at the room.
She had been successful in her hunt for sunglasses. She found a pair of readers at a reasonable
price.
At six we started getting
ready dressed for dinner. This was
formal night so I got into my rented tux.
We had photos taken with us in our finery. Then we listened to a short speech from the
captain which culminated in a champagne waterfall. The champagne waterfall is set up by making a
large pyramid of champagne glasses and filling the top one until it overflows
and fills all the glasses under it.
Before dinner we ran into Del
and Kay from the table next to ours and visited with them for awhile. We went to our regular seating for dinner,
Lou and Mona were there also. All six of
us are going all the way to Ft. Lauderdale and we asked our table captain to
seat us all at the same round table with chairs for the leg of the cruise from
Venice to Ft. Lauderdale.
We lingered over and after
dinner visiting with Lou and Mona. On the way back to our room we saw Charlotte
and Ken, so we visited with them for a little while.
We went back to our room and
read for awhile before calling it a night.
Tomorrow we are in Mykonos,
Greece. We have no tours scheduled and I
hope to have better luck caching there than I did in Italy. It is a short stop and the ship leaves at
1pm.
