We arrived in Citivecchi, the port for Rome at 7 AM. We had to be in the Symphony Dining Room at
8:45. On our side of the ship facing the
sky was clearing, it wasn't on the shore side.
During the 1 1/2 hour drive to Rome, our first stop was at a rest stop
and the weather was clear. Shortly after
leaving that area it started to rain and very heavily. It was raining heavily when we got to Rome and
the area around Vatican City. It took
over an hour to get through a tunnel to the bus parking area. We only had 45 minutes to walk around, so we chose
to stay on the bus. We did get a few
pictures but there are raindrops on the windows.
There was less rain on the return trip. By sailing time it was mostly sunny. We sailed away as darkness set in. I got a few sunset shots.
We ate at or regular sitting, only Del and Kay from Tucson
were there. As usual the meal was great. After dinner we went to see the comedy show
in the Princess Theater. The comedian,
Troy Thirddill, was funny and the show moved quickly.
Tomorrow in Naples we are scheduled for a tour that starts
at 7 AM.
We went to bed early to get as much sleep as possible before
our tour.
