Sunday
Since we decided to leave Lakeshore a day early, today is moving day. We are driving to Oconto, WI. We got on the road at 11:30. Along the shores of Gitchee Gumee, by the shining big sea waters, drove the motorhome of the Barkers, travelers of the land, the Barkers. I couldn't resist the parody. OK so we were driving by Lake Michigan not Lake Superior, but there were still shining big sea waters. Our route was mostly US-2, the speed limit was 55mph but the road was very good with little traffic. I stopped at one rest stop before leaving Michigan and found a cache. We made one other stop to buy pasties. We had seen signs in St. Ignace but got to Gladstone, MI before it was easy to get off and back on the highway. Pasties are a meat pie , pronounced past ies not paste ies. Gerri bought three hot, ready to eat, and three frozen for later. It was a late lunch, we shared a beef, a chicken and a pizza. Glenna had her last tow pieces for supper.
We arrived in Oconto, WI at about 5 PM. We got a beautiful spot along the river, Holtwood park is a city run facilities and the nightly fee is very reasonable.
We met a few neighbors and then put in some TV and computer time before retiring
Monday
I got up and loaded a dozen caches into the GPS and went hunting. Gerri stayed at the coach and did wash and Facebook. I found eight caches, didn't find two and didn't hunt two because of the descriptions.
In the afternoon we all sat out for a couple of hours.
I filled the water tank in preparation for five days of dry camping in Madison. We will have power but no water or sewer. we shouldn't have any problem getting by. If not there are usually companies that will pump the sewer and deliver fresh water. I'm hoping there will be at east one company washing coaches. I haven't cleaned the coach since before leaving Las Vegas. If other American Coach owners see us we will probably be drummed out of the club.
I also hooked up the Jeep. All I have to do before leaving is drain the sewer and unhook the hose, unhook the water hose and electric cord. After I complete this blog, Gerri is taking over the computer. I will watch some TV and call it a night,
