March 24, 25, 26 and 27, 2016 Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mexico

Thursday March 24, 2016

After coffee, reading and Sudoku puzzles we went to the pool area.  It was windy again today.  We didn't get lounges in the same area.  We also didn't all get Loteria cards.  I was the only one that played, no wins.  This week is the first time they have run out of cards.  There are lots of kids here for their Spring Break.

After more lounging we went back to our unit.  We took a taxi into town for dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant, Pancho's. http://www.panchos.com/p-rest.htm

We had an excellent meal and Neva had her picture taken with the mariachi band.  I also checked on a cache located in the restaurant.  The cache, Alan Kaschube Memorial Cache GC1C4QN, was placed in 2008 and I logged it as a find in 2011.  This cache has been found over 1100 times and has 102 favorite points.  Because of the location it has survived longer than most urban caches in Los Cabo.  The cache showed an inventory of 8 travel bugs, but none were present.  This isn't all that unusual, some get lost others are taken by non cachers.

After dinner it was back to the resort for our nightly domino game.  Gerri won tonight.  My losing streak continues.

Full moon tonight

Friday March 25, 2016

We had another leisurely morning with coffee and reading, before heading to the pool area.  The sky was way gray with clouds that first looked like the ripples on sand dunes.

The cloud formations change to a chevron effect and then to what looked like columns.  Very impressive.
We all got Loteria cards today, but none of us won any of the games

We lounged around the pool all afternoon, reading and doing Sudoku puzzles.

Back our timeshare Gerri made Chicken enchiladas in a green sauce.  They were served with a salad and we each had a portion of the left over chili relleno from Poncho's.

Tonight I won the domino game.  The score now is five each for the ladies with me still bringing up the rear with two games won.

A lot of people checkout tomorrow.  It should be less crowded by the pools.  Of course later in the afternoon new people will be checking in.  More spring breakers.  Of course most of the partying occurs in town and the partyers are pretty subdued during the day around the resort.

Saturday March 26, 2016

We watched a lot of people departing while we enjoyed our coffee on the balcony.  Saturday and Monday are the check in days here at Hacienda Del Mar.  Of course that makes them check out days too.  The only trouble with Saturday and Monday traveling is generally the airfares are higher.  Oh, well that is part of the price for leisure time in this beautiful place.

We got to the pool area and located  three lounges beside the sports pool.  This is the first time we have sat up here this year.  Most of the time we sat with our backs to the pool, facing the gulf.

After Loteria, which none of us won, we ordered Coconut shrimp, onion rings and fish tacos.  Service was really slow today and it was after four when we got our order.  This turned out to be our supper.  We stayed later at the pool than normal.  I didn't get back to our unit until after 6.  It had gotten cool and most people had left the area.  Just before I left two large groups came and took up most of the lounges by the side of the pool where I had been sitting.  They must have checked in later in the afternoon.

We played our nightly domino game.  Gerri won tonight

The end of a golden day
Sunday March 27, 2016

We had our coffee and then tuned into worship services from the Oakey Boulevard Church of Christ.  Last week the picture was better than we are used to, today we could hardly recognize the men who were conducting the service.

We had reservations for Brunch at the Cabo Del Sol Country Club.  The country club is only about a half mile away and they have a shuttle from the timeshare office.  This brunch had been recommended by several people over the years.  It was our first time there.  It was very busy, probably busier because it was Easter Sunday.  The country club was decorated for Easter.

They even had rabbits, chicks and ducklings.  There were a lot of families with small children dressed for the occasion.  The wait was about 40 minutes.  During the wait the staff served champagne, mimosas and a variety of soft drinks.

They had a large variety of food choice, a breakfast bar, a salad bar and entrees including grilled lobster, crab, shrimp, flank steak and a variety of sushi.  After all that there was a expansive desert table.

Back at the time share area we changed and spent the rest of the afternoon in the pool area relaxing and reading.

After the large brunch, none of us were very hungry.  We played our nightly domino game.  Gerri won again.  The score for the two weeks ended up; Gerri 7, Neva 5 and 2 for me.  After dominoes we all had a light supper of left overs.  As for dessert we had PEEPS that Neva had brought from home for the occasion.

Tomorrow Neva leaves for home at about 2:40 and we move to another unit.  This has been a good two weeks, spent with family in a beautiful place.
