Friday November 20, 2015 At Sea Between Los Angeles, CA and Cabo San Lucas, MX

We thought we were going to sleep in. However we got a letter outlining the procedure of getting off the ship, going through customs and immigration and re boarding the ship.  We met with other “In transit” passengers at 10 at the Wheelhouse Bar.  The room was nearly full.  After we started moving toward the customs area it was only a matter of the long walk.  The actual time with the agent was very short.

We had to exit the terminal building and reenter at a different door.  I had downloaded 10 caches near the cruise terminal. When we exited the terminal the nearest cache was about .2 of a mile away.  It was across a major street and we spent more time waiting for crossing lights than we did getting to the area and searching.  The cache was hidden in the first place I asked Gerri to check.  The next closest cache was by the Battleship Iowa nearly 3/4amile away.  We may try for that one when we return next week.

Back at the terminal we got through security and back on the ship before noon.  We had coffee in the International CafĂ©.  Since one of the reasons for these two short cruises was to reach the Elite level in the Princess’ loyalty award system, we went to the customer service desk and exchanged our Platinum cards for new Elite cards.

We decided to have burgers by the pool for lunch.  It was crowded by the time we got there, so there was a short wait for food.  The burgers were good as usual.  They now bread the fries with cheese.  During lunch we began to notice how many children and teens were aboard.  It must be because it is Friday and there is no school next week.

Our sail away coincided pretty well with the sunset.  As we exited the harbor the sunset was on the starboard side.  We went to deck 15 and got a few pictures the harbor area and of the changing sunset.

Sunset and moon rise

We went to the Skywalker for the hors d’oeuvres at about six.  It wasn’t very crowded.  We did sit next to a couple from La Habra, CA, Bob and Gloria.  They are onboard for this and the next two cruises.  There was no show in the Vista Lounge tonight, so Gerri went shopping.  She had seen some different shirts in one of the shops.  I guess they didn’t look as good close up, she didn’t buy any.  While Gerri was shopping I watched an acrobat act in the Piazza.

We had the same table for dinner, but new tablemates.  There was a young couple from southern California and two school teachers from the Oakland area.

After dinner we went to the Princess Theater for the welcome aboard show.  There was a dance number featuring the Princess Dancers and the Princess Orchestra followed by a comedian, A.J. Jamal.

One advantage of our room being forward is that it is just an elevator right up.  We called it a night at about 11.
