We slept late this morning. I don't know if it was because of the long
trying day yesterday or not having windows to see the daylight. Probably a combination of both.
We slept in until 9:30. We didn't know it until later in the day but
it was midnight before the ship sailed.
I never felt the ship rocking until I sat in the hard desk chair. Even then it was a smooth ride.
We ordered coffee and breakfast in our room. I had Raisin Bran with yogurt and Gerri had a
bran muffin. We got out and about a
little afternoon.
We went to a presentation about the volcanoes on the
big island. Our first port is Hilo on
the big island of Hawaii. We didn't book
a tour but may check on a tour of the National Park.
We has tapas and watched the people taking line
dancing lessons in the Piazza. Then we
caught the last of the art auction.

We went to a short presentation on Fire Opals
followed by a trivia game in the Explorer’s lounge. As a team we got 15 correct answers out of 20. We had met Alex, a member of the cruise staff, on the Sea Princess going to Australia.
A little after 5 we went to the Skywalk for the
Platinum/Elite guests hors
d’d'oeuvres. The main item tonight was Steak Tartar. We had that and some olives, cheese and celery accompanied by breadsticks. I did get a couple of hazy shots of the sunset.
For dinner we had pizza and grilled hot dogs on the
Lido deck. I had a soft serve cone on
the way to the vista theater. We watched
a show by hypnotist Matthew Fallon. He had 14 people on stage and hypnotized 10
of them as a group.
We headed back to our room. Gerri went to bed at 9:30. I read for a while and followed her at 10:30.
