Saturday January 17, 2015 At Sea

We ordered coffee and breakfast at about 8:30 in our room.  Tomorrow we have to break that pattern.  This was our last day at sea before arriving in Hilo.  We have a tour booked and have to be in the terminal at 9:45.  Tonight we set our clocks back another hour.

Our first activity was a making future cruise deposit and then picking up our Sudoku puzzles and another quiz matching Male names with their Female counter parts.  Gerri finished her Sudoku.  The quiz I tried has been part of most of the cruises and I still miss seven or eight of the answers correctly.

We had lunch in the Crown Grill.  They featured pub food.  I had fish and chips and Gerri had prawns and chips.  After Alaska we have been spoiled for fish and chips.  The dish seemed a lot better there.  We sat with a nice couple from the Houston area.

After lunch we went to a lecture on how the Hawaiian Island chain was formed and then we went and played Elevator Roulette.  They had the floor indicators on four of the elevators in the Piazza covered.  Each player was given four chips.  When all the elevator doors were closed on that floor, each player bet a chip on which elevator opened first.  The prize was a Princess water bottle.  After two games neither of us had a water bottle.

We went on deck for awhile it was quite pleasant.  After that we went back to the princess Theater and watched a terrible movie, Lucy.  That is an hour and a half we will never get back.

After a rest in our room we went to the Capri Dining Room.  We asked to be seated at the next available table.  We were taken up a floor to the Portofino Dining room and seated with two couples from the Bay area.  Later a couple from British Columbia joined us.  One of the couples were from San Jose and the husband had had a stroke three years ago.  He could not communicate well and needed a wheelchair to get around.  He is 85 and she is 80, his sole caretaker.  A very brave and hardy lady.

For the evening entertainment we went to the Matthew Fallon Hypno-tainment show.  This time it was in the Princess theater.  The show was the same format that we had seen before.  Of course with different volunteers who went into different antics when hypnotized.

After the show we returned to our cabin.  After some reading we were in bed by midnight with an alarm set for 7 AM.
